YOGA BY NADIYA
"The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships." T.K.V. Desikachar

Sitara Nadiya Mahmood received her 200 Hour CYT in Costa Rica in 2016 at the Marianne Wells Yoga School. She took her first yoga class in 2005 at George Mason University and continued to take classes sporadically.
Nadiya became centered, grounded, and found a sense of belonging in the yoga studios she began attending in 2012-2013. Since then she became a daily practitioner. Yoga brought love and peace into her heart and she realized it was her purpose to share this love with others. Quickly she learned this was her passion and her life’s purpose: share the joy of yoga with others. Yoga is so much more than movement— it is a lifestyle. Nadiya wants the world to enjoy not only the movement of yoga, but the breathing, spirituality, history, and philosophy of the practice.
Nadiya's current mission is to get all people on the mat and show them that yoga can heal and bring peace as well as release stress in our chaotic lifestyles. Nadiya (200-hour RYT), is a Hatha yoga teacher who teaches many different styles including flow and Vinyasa classes.
Nadiya has taught over 2000 hours of yoga class in the Washington, DC area and is an international yoga instructor who has taught in over 7 different countries.
Her style of asana practice is a powerful vinyasa practice that incorporates the practices she's learned throughout the years. Currently she practices Ashtanga and vinyasa asana classes. She also leads sound healing meditations with various chimes, crystal sound bowls, and Tibetan sound bowls.

Nadiya is passionate about traveling, nature, education and growth, sound healing, movement, and exploring new things.
Currently she is teaching at Epic Yoga in Washington, DC and at Zen Yoga Studio in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, and she also teaches private in home classes as well as private and public parties and events in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern, Virginia.
If you would like to get started on your yoga journey or deepen your practice, please reach out to Nadiya for more information and for her schedule.
May you go with peace and love.
